Disciplinary Rules and Procedures

The Investments & Wealth Institute (Institute) has adopted a Code, these Rules, and/or other standards which set forth the standards of conduct that the Institute requires of its Licensees and Candidates.

The Institute’s Professional Review Board (PRB) has five potential outcomes in disciplinary matters :

A finding of no violation
A private letter of censure
A public letter of censure
A suspension of the individual’s certification for a designated period of time (requiring the respondent to submit to the PRB a formal application for reinstatement after disciplinary suspension), and/or:
A termination of an individual’s certification.

The PRB decision can be based upon a number of factors, including, without limitation, the severity of the violation, any mitigating circumstances, and the individual’s cooperation with the investigation of the Professional Review Board or Hearing Panel.
