Investing in factors can help improve portfolio outcomes, enhance diversification, and help manage risk. However, different types of factor investing come with different benefits and potential challenges. Join John Bryson, Head of Investment Consulting at John Hancock Investment Management, to learn investor considerations for incorporating factor-based investing into portfolios. Advisors will explore how to best select factor strategies and how to implement factors into portfolios, including evaluating single vs. multifactor strategies. Factor performance, costs, and tax considerations will also be explored.
John Bryson is Head of Investment Consulting for John Hancock Investment Management. The 5-member team is a value-add resource for high-end financial advisors and RIA’s seeking advanced portfolio construction advice. Areas of focus for the team include asset allocation, portfolio construction, appropriate use of alternatives and model stress testing. John is also the business lead for the John Hancock Freedom 529 Plan and Chairman of the John Hancock Pension and 401K Investment Sub-Committee. Prior roles at John Hancock include Head of Product Management and leadership roles in Stable Value, Market Research and ETF capital markets.
Before joining John Hancock in 2008, John worked at Fidelity Investments for 10 years and held product management and development positions in the intermediary and defined contribution business units. Before this, John was in client service, investment training and product specialist positions at New England Funds and Putnam Investments.
John earned a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Boston College. John holds Series 6, 63, 7 and 24 licenses.
