Even before the global pandemic hit in earnest in early 2020, there was notable evidence that globalization—the tenet that had buttressed 30 years of global economic progress—was unwinding, and that rising protectionism would drive global growth lower. Dambisa, will explore the following: the five pillars of globalization, why they are declining, how things have changed in a post-pandemic world, the investment implications of these changes, and untapped opportunities (e.g., markets, regions, sectors).

Dambisa Moyo, PhD, is a pre-eminent thinker, who influences key decision-makers in strategic investment and public policy. She is a top-tier opinion former and trusted advisor on macroeconomics, geopolitics, and technology themes. She is a co-principal of Versaca Investments, a family office focused on growth investing globally. She serves on a number of global corporate boards including 3M Corporation, Chevron, and Condé Nast. She worked at the World Bank and Goldman Sachs for nearly a decade. She is the author of four New York Times bestselling books, including Edge of Chaos: Why Democracy Is Failing to Deliver Economic Growth—and How to Fix It (2018). Her newest book, How Boards Work: And How They Can Work Better in a Chaotic World, is scheduled to be published in spring 2021. Moyo earned a PhD in economics from Oxford University and an MPA from Harvard University.
