RMA® Certification Application Process

Retirement Management Advisor Online Course offered online, this course provides a comprehensive, unified text of RMA® readings, recorded lectures, video insight from industry leaders, and much more. Candidates complete the online course which consists of eleven sections, readings, recorded lectures, a progressive case study, quizzes, and live webinar.

This online self-study course is a critical step of the required curriculum for all RMA Candidates including both the live and on-demand capstone program events.

The Retirement Management Advisor Education Capstone is a two-day in-person or on-demand executive education event. The Capstone provides a deeper application of knowledge and skills learned in the RMA online course facilitated by leading Ivy League-quality academics, as well as experienced industry practitioners.

The Capstone takes concepts from the online course and puts them in the context of timely, real-world developments affecting the retirement landscape, and helps attendees master the tools to successfully address these issues with clients.

*Please note that tuition for the two-day, in-person Capstone does not include flights, accommodations or adjoining conference fees.

Retirement Management Advisor Exam can be completed after successful completion of the Retirement Advisor Online Course and the Retirement Management Advisor Education Capstone. The examination will be offered in a proctored setting.

The in-person exam at Capstone events is a paper and pen exam. The online proctored exam can be taken from any stable Internet connection that offers a webcam and microphone, through which the online proctor can observe the test-taker throughout the exam. Typically, we recommend that you test from home to avoid challenges related to corporate firewalls. Online proctors are available 24/7, for your convenience, and if you schedule with at least 72 hours notice, there's no additional charge.

The examination comprises 110 multiple-choice questions and you have three hours in which to complete it. A financial calculator is required for the certification exam and is incorporated throughout the RMA Course.
