Renewal Requirements

Renewal requirements for the RMA certification.

By maintaining the RMASM credentials, certified professionals are demonstrating high standards of professionalism to the public they serve. There are three requirements for renewal:

  1. Attest to completion of 20 hours of eligible continuing education.
  2. Pay a certification renewal fee.
  3. Complete the compliance requirement indicating continued adherence to the Institute Code of Responsibility, as well as disclosing any federal/state regulatory actions or complaints.
Requirements in 2019 and beyond are likely to include more requirements for documenting continuing education (CE). Please see CIMA/CPWA renewal requirements for expected CE requirement changes in 2019.

In 2018, anything that was previously approved for RIIA CE will be accepted, as well as anything that has been approved for CIMA/CPWA continuing education credit. Going forward, anything approved for CIMA/CPWA credit will also be approved for RMA certificant CE credit.
